How is Zest4life different? Most diets or weight-loss approaches only focus on one element (such as diet, group support or exercise) and usually focus on short-term success.  However, the Zest4life programme uniquely draws together all the components that will enable you to be successful – not only at weight loss but at weight maintenance. This is because Zest4life combines personal professional guidance with group support; a healthy balanced low-GL diet with nutritional education and the opportunity to start addressing emotional eating and improve fitness.

Feedback from a client who completed 6 weeks on Zest4life course

Just thought I would drop a line to update you on my progress since finishing the Zest for Life programme in June/July.  I thought it was really informative and absolutely what I had been looking for for most of my life(!), and for me appears to have provided the answers to my weight problems (so far).

I lost over 9 pounds (can't think in kg) during the course, then at the end of
August  went on holiday for 2 weeks.  I tried to follow the basic principles of the eating plan while I was away, but it was difficult as I was not preparing my own food most of the time.  When I came back I was expecting to have put on a few pounds, but when I got on the scales I could not believe it - I had LOST another 8 pounds in about 4 weeks!! 

I was particularly pleased with how it all went as it had not seemed to be much
effort at all.  I have always eaten reasonably healthily, I think, and never really ate an enormous amount, so could not understand why I could not shed the 2 stones in weight I had accumulated over the years, and keep it off.  Now I know - it was all down to food cravings for sugar, bread and caffeine.  I got rid of those in the first week, and then it was all easy.  I had to remember to eat protein with any carbs, and then the weight just fell off.  It was great to know I had to eat every 3 hours, so I never felt hungry.  I had vowed to myself over the last couple of years that I would never do a calorie controlled diet again, or any way of eating which was not sustainable.  Zest for Life has shown me that I can eat healthily, never feel hungry, and have a healthy appetite which does not lead to weight gain.  It is easy to follow it wherever I go, as long as I remember the basic principles.

I'm beginning to sound like an advert for the course now, but I do believe that it is the answer we have all been looking for.  What I particularly liked was the way we all learnt the information gradually over the course, and the whole psychological thing of setting goals, reviewing and reflecting on our progress etc etc - the whole package is wonderful.  I realise that it is not possible just to  tell somebody else how to do it - they have to make their own journey and internalise the information.

So, it's all good!  Thank you so much for being a wonderful guide and host.  I hope to see you again and join one of the courses in the future.

Oh, and I have lost another couple of pounds since I got back from holiday, so now it's about 20 pounds since I began the course.              Jan
